Prehistoric Iberia genetics, anthropology, and linguisticsedited by Antonio Arnaiz-VillenaThe nine papers presented here derive from a symposium entitled `Prehistoric Iberia', held in Madrid in 1998. This meeting brought together a number of scholars from archaeological/anthropological, linguistic and genetics backgrounds. An inter-disciplinary approach is taken throughout in addressing key questions and issues concerning the cultural relationships and gene flow between peoples of Iberia and the rest of the Mediterranean and Europe. In particular, important links are found between prehistoric populations of Iberia and those of North Africa. The section on genetics is challenging, but not unreadable, the remaining sections on anthropology and linguistics are highly interesting and informative. 252p, b/w figs, tbs (Kluwer 2000) Browse other Palaeolithic/Mesolithic Europe books Browse other Anthropology books |
