This book is a collection of studies on the theme of the Christian Church in medieval Spain, written by ten of the leading specialists in Britain. They are all erstwhile pupils or colleagues of Dr Highfield and have compiled this collection in appreciation of his contribution to Iberian scholarship. Highfield's portrait by Jeff Stultiens serves as a colour frontispiece.

Biographical note

Derek W. Lomax is the Professor of Hispanic Studies at the University of Birmingham and Dr David Mackenzie is a lecturer in the same department.
