This volume reports on recent excavations and archaeological surveys around Wiessens near Aurich in Lower Saxony, Germany, in advance of sand extraction. Discoveries included Mesolithic artefacts, a substantial amount of Neolithic pottery as well as inhumation burials and building complexes, Bronze and Iron Age cremation burials and settlement structures. The study also considers the reasons for the end of activity during the Hallstatt Period. The book concludes with an illustrated catlogue of finds.
