The Later Iron Age in Britain and Beyond

edited by Colin Haselgrove and Tom Moore

The last fifteen years have seen a major shift in Iron Age studies. Once seen as a rather dull and lifeless subject, the period is now at the forefront of theoretical debate. In this book, the Later Iron Age is taken to be c.400/300BC until the Roman Conquest. This period is one that saw dynamic change in settlement patterns and use of landscape. Later prehistoric archaeologists have become increasingly aware of the significance of the study of landscape, not just as geographical entity, but as a temporal construct. The thirty-one papers in this volume are a testament to the vitality and importance now associated with this period. 534p (Oxbow Books 2007)
