Gell provides a detailaed analysis of theories put forward by key thinkers such as Durkheim, Levi-Strauss, Piaget, Husserl and Bourdieu, and discuuses four main approachs in time research: developmental psychology, symbolic anthropology, `economic' theories of time in social geography, and phenomenological theories. 341p with text-figs.
