Aldhelm: The Prose Works

Aldhelm (c.640-709) Abbot of Malmesbury and Bishop of Sherborne, was the best read writer in Latin in Anglo-Saxon England. This book translates his surviving prose works (there is a companion volume for his poetry), which comprise the treatise De virginitate, the composite work Epistola ad Acircium which deals with numerology and poetic metre, and thirteen letters. 210p (Boydell 1979, Pb 2009)
