Campements mesolithiques en Bresse jurassienneSeara, FredericA report on archaeological and palaeoenvironmental remains from two open-air Mesolithic sites in eastern France. The distribution of excavated finds, especially lithic material, flint raw materials and faunal remains, allows the authors to reconstruct a picture of the spatial organisation, culture and subsistence habits of the inhabiting groups. They concluded that these groups practised specialised hunting patterns, including red deer, wild boar and aurochs, exploited a large territory, were part of a hierarchy of sites and that they occupied a significant crossroads for crossing through the Bresse region of the Jura. French text; short English and French abstracts. 338p, b/w figs, tbs (DAF 92, Editions de la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme/Paris 2002) Browse other Palaeolithic/Mesolithic Europe books |
