This volume, with texts by Cristina Acidini, Beatrice Paolozzi Strozzi, and Giancarlo Gentilini, presents the substantial corpus of glazed terracottas held by the Museo Nazionale del Bargello. There is a detailed description of each item with color illustrations. Under its current, proactive management, the Museum has made further acquisitions including a large Pietà by Andrea della Robbia (unglazed and so excluded from this catalogue) and has recently begun a restoration program to improve the legibility of key works such as the Madonna and Child lunette of Luca della Robbia’s Via dell’Agnolo and Giovanfrancesco Rustici’s Noli Me Tangere. The book also includes family trees and biographies of the artists, a documentary appendix by Jessica Corsi, concordances, and a bibliography.
