Details
Pottery from excavations carried out in the early 20th century at the site of Vrokastro in eastern Crete is housed in the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and at the Archaeological Museum in Herakleion in Crete. Drawing on the pioneering work of Edith Hall who excavated and studied much of the pottery, Barbara Hayden presents an illustrated catalogue of pottery from the site dating to the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age. Adding extra drawings and photographs to Hall's publication of the pottery in 1914, Hayden also examines the wider context of the pottery and the site. The settlement history and environment, and the results of the survey work will be published in future volumes.
