Details
A large-scale synthesis of the state of archaeology in Spain and Portugal which comes out of a session at the Theoretical Archaeology Group conference in 1992. Two of the articles are of relevance. Simon Keay looks at the dynamics of cultural change following the arrival of the Romans. He approahes the question from the perspective of urbanisation and examines elements of town plans which reinforced imperial propoganda. Isabel Rodà looks at periods of transition from the 2nd century AD to late antiquity and examines the implications of Roman withdrawal.
