Details
This report details excavations which took place between 1988-1994 at the early LBK settlement at Rosenburg in the northwest of Lower Austria. Findings include seven households, two pit-ovens a large rubbish pit, and 24 slit pits, which are interpreted as storage pits for ice. Ceramics and botanical and faunal assemblages are also analysed. The report compares the results with those from the wider settlement cluster of the Horn basin, positing a wide degree of interaction, and for specialised roles for the Rosenburg site within the wider community.
