Subtitled `archaeological and evolutionary theory', this book concentrates on certain theoretical contributions to anthropology in which hunter-gatherers figure most prominently. Firstly it looks at theories of limited sets, which seek to reconcile general principles to particular cases by showing how such cases result from the general principle in the presence of special conditions.
