Privacy & Security

We respect our customers' privacy. We will not give or sell your personal information to any other company; nor will we send you any unsolicited e-mail. Users who sign up to our e-mailing list may unsubscribe at any time. If you do not wish to receive printed catalogues from us, just let us know.

Returns & Replacements

All customers purchasing from Oxbow Books have a seven day 'cooling-off' period in which you can change your mind (for any reason), cancel your order and return the goods to us. This 'cooling-off' period starts the day after you receive the goods from us. Notification that you wish to cancel and return goods to us must be received via email, letter or fax; a phonecall is not sufficient. When returning goods please obtain proof of posting or send via an insured method of shipping. We will issue a refund with 30 of receiving the returned goods in a like-new, resalebale condition. We will not refund the cost of originally posting the item to you, nor that incurred by you returning the item to us.

Damaged or faulty books may be returned for a replacement copy (where available) or a refund. We will refund any postage charges you incur in returning a damaged book to us. Please contact us before returning any book so we can advise a suitable method of delivery.

Payment, Pricing & Promotions

Private customer orders placed through this website require payment by credit/debit card. The credit-card details form in our order process is secure-server protected. This means that your credit card details are scrambled in transit, and then stored securely so that we are the only people who can access your information. With certain cards we have the option to charge your card in the currency of the country where your card is registered and this is the option we usually take. The exchange rate applied at that time will be as it appears on your card statement. You are advised to mention in "Additional comments" or by email to orders@oxbowbooks.com if you would prefer to be charged in UK pounds sterling. Any cards not offering currency options will be charged in UK pounds sterling.

If you would prefer not to pay by credit card, there is the facility to print out your shopping cart and post/fax this to us. We accept payment by cheque (in UK Pounds sterling, and drawn on a UK bank account). Postal Giro and Bank transfers are also acceptable, but attract additional bank charges.
