The Israel Antiquities Authority serves as the leading professional body for the study of the archaeology of Eretz-Israel. It preserves, conserves and studies the archaeological heritage of the country at the highest scientific level, and maintains a balance between development needs and antiquities preservation. It aims to increase public awareness and interest in the country's archaeological heritage.
