This book presents research results on the interaction processes between societies that inhabited in the
Calchaquí Valley (Province of Salta, northwestern Argentina) and those from surrounding regions between
the 9th and 16th centuries. Such study sought to determine the variability of goods, raw materials and ideas that
circulated to and from the study region and to establish the potential circulation paths between the Calchaquí
Valley and the different regions, in order to ultimately suggest ways of interregional interaction during the
Regional Development Period (900-1430/70 AD) and its differences or similarities when the Inkas ruled (1430/79- 1536 AD).
