Tells form an important part of the landscape of settlement in the Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze Age landscapes of southeast Europe and the Middle East. This volume analyses the social and environmental factors which determined tell formation and discontinuation, combining individual case studies with broader surveys, and exploring factors such as climate and vegetation, sedentarism and social complexity.
