Windgather Press Imprint
Windgather Press specialises in publishing accessible and attractive books on landscape history, landscape archaeology, and the history of Britain’s countryside and further afield, including garden history. The publications are designed not only for those professionally engaged in the subject, but also those with a serious amateur interest in landscape research.
The name comes from Windgather Rocks, a prominent gritstone edge on the Cheshire/Derbyshire Border, close to where the press was originally founded in Bollington. Well-known amongst climbers and walkers, the edge overlooks a landscape of seventeenth and eighteen century field-walls and scattered farms typical of the western Pennine edge.
