Riksantikvarieabetet (National Heritage Board of Sweden)
Riksantikvarieambetet (National Heritage Board of Sweden) is the primary archaeological institution within Sweden, employing 150 people. The organisation has six offices located in Molndal, Stockholm, Uppsala and Orebro which provide effective representation in some of the more remote areas of the country. The aim of Riksantikvarieambetet is to raise the profile of Swedish archaeology whilst applying scientific and rational methods to excavation and conservation. Their publications include scientific excavation reports and surveys as well as more popular books drawing together the results of their work.
