Details
A critical edition of six surveys of the estates of Glastonbury Abbey during the 12th century which provide evidence for the methods employed by the abbot to administer, and exploit, the monastic household and a vast number of demesne manors and peasants. The extensive introductory study of the composition and holdings of the estates are followed by the surveys themselves, in Latin, five of which have not been published before.
