Founded in 1977, Sheep Meadow Press is a non-profit press dedicated to publishing poetry and fine writing. Sheep Meadow Press is interested in attracting poets who produce work of an exceedingly high, but decidedly non-commercial standard. Sheep Meadow Press has published over 250 books, including works by F.T. Prince, Stephen Berg, Stanley Kunitz, Hayden Carruth, Bruce Smith, Edward Field, Kathryn Starbuck, and Norman Manea, who was recently nominated for a Noble Prize in Literature. The company also has a group of translators, and have published translations by writers such as Yehuda Amichai, Miguel Hernandez, Dahlia Ravikovitch, Yona Wallach, Claire Malroux and Hans Magnus Enzensberger. Sheep Meadow Press books are distributed by The University Press of New England.
