Shiah Institute Press

The Shīʿah Institute Press is the publishing division of The Shīʿah Institute, an academic research organisation based in Bloomsbury, London. Established in 2012, The Shīʿah Institute’s principal objectives are to provide an academic forum for disseminating the highest standards of research through its publications, educational initiatives, and outreach programmes, in order to preserve, illuminate, and disseminate the universal aspects of the Shīʿah tradition. It accomplishes these aims through publishing scholarly and peer-reviewed volumes in Islamic Studies, specifically on Shīʿah Imāmī Islam, its heritage, and its peoples; through convening interdisciplinary symposia on topics of paramount importance to Shīʿah Islam; through sponsoring the only dedicated course on Shīʿī Studies at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS); and through its unique international and interdisciplinary Fellowship, which brings together leading scholarly authorities in the burgeoning field of Shīʿī Studies.

The Shīʿah Institute Press’ publications encompass contemporary and classical scholarship on the theology, philosophy, poetry, jurisprudential thought, history, mysticism, and anthropology of Shīʿah Imāmī Islam, amongst other subjects. Our current and future publication series include the Classical Shīʿah Library; the Modern Shīʿah Library; the Shīʿah Heritage of South Asia; the Shīʿah Institute Symposia Series; the ʿĀshūrāʾ Literature Series; Studies in Shīʿah Islam; and the Short Introductions to Shīʿah Islam.
