The Western Academic & Specialist Press (WASP), which specialises in the broad field of archaeology, was founded in 1998 to provide readers and authors with high quality books of scholarly excellence, as well as value for money. All its academic books are peer-reviewed to maintain high standards of scholarship. WASP has a small but significant list of publications, which, in addition to the books, includes the first in a series of online archaeology journals. The books are all available through Oxbow.
