Julie Gardiner (Publisher), BA, PhD, FSA, MCIfA, holds a PhD in Neolithic landscape studies, specialising in lithics, from Reading University (supervisor: Professor Richard Bradley) and has worked in academic, professional and commercial archaeology. She has 30+ years’ experience in academic publishing in the field of archaeology and ancient history, having previously been Managing Editor for East Anglian Archaeology, the Council for British Archaeology and Senior Project Manager Post-excavation and Publication for Wessex Archaeology. She is also editor of an international journal (The Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society). She is responsible for the overall running of the Oxbow and Windgather imprints, for commissioning titles and developing new series and publishing partnerships.
Jessica Hawxwell (Managing Editor) completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of Art at the University of York. She has worked in publishing for over 10 years and has been with Oxbow Books since 2018. She manages the editorial side of the production process for all Oxbow and Windgather titles, and commissions for the Windgather Press imprint.
Mette Bundgaard (Production Manager) has worked in book production for over 20 years and has been with the Casemate Group since 2015. She heads up the production team and oversees typesetting and printing of our published lists on both sides of the Atlantic. Her role also includes maintaining existing and forming new supplier relationships.
Declan Ingram (Production Designer) has worked for the Casemate Group since 2018, after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design at Coventry University in 2017. Declan’s cover designs are seen all across the Oxbow website, as one of the main parts of his role is designing covers for the Casemate Group. He keeps a close eye on the images in all of our books, making sure they are fit for publication, and he is a skilled creator of maps. Declan is also the designer for all marketing and publicity materials.
